The HANDLE® Approach: Applied Neurology in the Home and Classroom

Newly Published Study Validates HANDLE®

The July 2006 issue of the Journal of Neuroimaging published the exciting results of a study affirming HANDLE® therapy's effectiveness in the treatment of patients with chronic traumatic brain injuries (TBI). The study, conducted at Harborview Medical Center, suggested that HANDLE®’s non-drug, non-invasive programs improved brain activation from hindbrain to forebrain. SPECT imagery confirmed the changes both at rest and activation (with the subjects performing a HANDLE® activity called the Crossed-Arm Bounce). The five HANDLE® clients, between 4 and 23 years post injury, all reported improved vision, and four of the five reported  improved hearing, attention, problem solving skills, and self-awareness, as well as enhanced energy. Three of the five said their pain decreased.

This is impressive scientific support for HANDLE®'s precept, which is that physiological changes arise from its Gentle Enhancement® therapy that strengthens weakened systems.

Judith Bluestone quoted in TIME Magazine Article on Autism

In the May 15, 2006 issue of TIME Magazine, the cover story on Autism quotes Judith Bluestone from her book, The Fabric of Autism.

What is not widely known (or published in the article) is that two of the individuals profiled in the article are currently Judith's clients.  We hope to be able to provide more details in the near future.

AutismIn The Fabric of Autism, Judith Bluestone combines her personal autistic experience with academic research and more than 35 years of clinical practice to craft a unique and compelling view of the phenomenon called autism.
