"Building Brains and Bettering Bonds"

"I am completely satisfied with my experiences with Beth Powell Sanchez.  My son and I spent a week with Beth at an intensive.  Beth was able to hone in on the problems facing my son and was able to recommend a variety of techniques to improve his functioning in those areas.

I was particularly pleased that all the therapy was done as a family.  With my son's attachment issues, I believe that it's important for the therapist to work toward building and enhancing the bond between the parents and the child.  Beth was able to do this magnificently.  I learned a tremendous amount by being a part of the therapy process and having her coach me on various aspects of my son's treatment.  I also greatly appreciated the handouts for additional reading which helped me understand the dynamics of my son's behavior.  The videos gave me many practical parenting techniques which have been especially helpful.

My son has come home a happier, calmer, more cooperative child.  While we still have issues to address, I believe that true healing happened for both of us and we are finally on the right path toward a bright and productive future for my son.

Beth established an immediate rapport with my son.  She was firm and directive in running the counseling sessions, but did so in a very loving and accepting manner.  We both felt safe in revealing the hurts of our pasts and found healing through the various therapies that Beth employed.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Beth as a counselor.  She has a tremendous depth of knowledge about traumatized kids and employs a variety of techniques to address the unique issues of each individual.  I look forward to working with her in the future, as needs arise within our family."

"My husband and I have two post-institutionalized, internationally adopted, pre-school daughters with attachment issues. We had been searching for help and found what we needed at the Child-in-Family Services. Beth Powell, LCSW, psychotherapist, observed our daughters and our interactions. She evaluated our daughters and taught us various techniques such as Theraplay activities, neuro-developmental movement, strong sitting, and cuddle time, to help us be a happier, healthier family.

We’ve been home almost a month and have been using daily all the things we learned from Ms. Powell. We feel confident that we are helping our daughters as we practice the activities designed to help us bond as a family. We appreciate all the time Ms. Powell spent with us and believe that the week we spent in Columbus, Texas, has really made a positive difference in our family."

"Our family has been tremendously blessed by the work of Beth Powell Sanchez. She has the unique ability to work with the individual make-up of different families and help them find solutions that work for them. Beth has accommodated our family with therapy intensives of 3 and 4 days and has also worked with us in our home in Saltillo, Mexico. She has gone the extra mile to be more than a therapist, but has instead become an encourager, teacher, and friend to our family.
